It’s great when the North West production industry’s finest get together to do something really worthwhile. So when Manchester’s the Hive Agency asked Paul from the Camera Crewing Company if he could help out with a little promotional film for their client, children’s cancer charity KidsCan, we were only too pleased to assist. Andy hastily wrote a 30” commercial script, The Camera Crewing Company supplied DoP Adam and Camera Assistant Ross for the day and we assembled at Media City along with over 100 cheerleaders and gymnasts and a succession of willing volunteers.
The weather was fortunately kind, the cheerleaders could not have been more enthusiastic and the guys from Booths Supermarket and Salford Reds fully entered into the spirit. Even the crew did a somewhat shambolic version of the can-can that made the longer edit (ouch).
A rapid post-production turnaround, courtesy of The Basement quickly delivered the commercial for the big screen at the `Trafford Centre and a longer web film for Youtube which rapidly got over 1,000 views.
