Un Jour Au Coeur Du Talc
A Day on the White Mountain is actually the result of one day filming short interval time lapse at the world’s largest talc mine, 1800 m up in the Pyrenees. We also shot for half a day at the Imerys processing plant and our editor Jordi Vidal Oliveras edited the finished film.
There is a strangely lyrical quality to the mountain top sequences, with the combination of panoramic vistas, the other-worldly landscape of the quarry and seriously large excavating machinery creating an impressive overall effect. The mine workers live up on the mountain for 6 months a year, we were only there for a day but could see why it’s a place that has captured the imagination for over 150 years.
