Our focus is always on the next piece of work so we really don’t tend to enter many awards; however when we do it’s always nice to get independent recognition for our work.
Finalist in the Llanberis Adventure Mountain Film Festival
Earlier this year we entered our newly completed documentary film “ICEFALL – Spirit of the Mountain” in the established and prestigious Llanberis Adventure and Mountain Film Festival and were excited when it was selected by the jury for showing. It chronicles a momentous 18 months in the life of young adversity adventurer Alex Staniforth whose two Everest expeditions have coincided with unprecedented tragedy on the mountain.
The film explores Alex’s incredible determination to overcome obstacles and use his experiences to encourage other young people to back themselves whatever the circumstance, take on fresh challenges and give something valuable back to their communities. It’s a powerful film, built around Alex’s first hand account of Nepal’s worst day and combining new interviews and supporting material with Alex’s own footage from his expeditions. ICEFALL received excellent reviews and plaudits at its first Festival and we will be looking to distribute it more widely in the rest of 2017.
